1860 LINCOLN CAMPAIGN AMBROTYPE. Rare and important large 1860 Lincoln campaign ambrotype, by George Clark of Boston.  Featuring the new Brady "Cooper Union" photo of Lincoln, this item was the 1st photographic item to appear in the campaign.  Excellent condition, with original "For President" insert card on reverse.  These were made two ways, holed for suspension (like this example), and with a large pin.  We rather prefer this version, as the pin doesn't punch through and deface the insert card.  Under magnification there is a very light crazing in the emulsion, but no flaking or other defects.  As the catalog photo shows, it presents beautifully. 66 x 35 mm.
