    [Texas Rangers]. Durbin Brothers Albumen, circa 1893. Pictured in this studio portrait are Company "D" Texas Ranger Joseph Walter Durbin, seated left, who also later served as Sheriff of Frio County, Texas; Denton County Sheriff W. E. "Lish" Durbin, standing; and Company "D" Texas Ranger James William "Tink" Durbin, who also served as a Denton County Sheriff's Deputy. This family of lawmen also included a brother-in-law, James D. Sparks, not pictured, who served as a Denton County Sheriff's Deputy. A previous collector has written his name on the verso in modern ink. Small tears to edges of card and photograph. Provenance: Durbin Family, George Jackson Collection.
