    [Texas Rangers]. Captain Cicero Rufus "Rufe" Perry Sixth-Plate Tintype, circa 1857. 2.5" x 3.25". Perry (1822-1898) joined the Texas Rangers at age fourteen, serving in Captain William Hill's company in 1836. Throughout the 1840s, he served under other various Ranger captains, such as John Moore, Samuel Highsmith, Thomas Green, Mark Lewis, and Jack Hays. Later in the 1870s, he earned an appointment as a captain in Company "D," Frontier Battalion. Slight scratching around edges.
