    [Grant's Death and Funeral]. Five Mounted Images of Ulysses S. Grant's Funeral and Resting Place, circa 1886. Images range in size from 14.75" x 13.25" to 17.25" x 14.75" and include the Walker Light Guards, 1st Virginia Regiment, before their departure from Richmond "to join the funeral cortege of General Grant."; Grant's sickroom; a crowd of people outside of Grant's tomb in Riverside Park, New York, gathered to see the "first decorations of the tomb, May 31, 1886"; a lone sentry, wearing a spiked helmet and holding a rifle with a bayonet standing outside of Grant's tomb, "as it looked the next day after the Entombment"; Capt. J.A. Fessenden and 1st Lt. J. Escourt Sawyer sitting outside a tent "at the tomb of General Grant at Riverside Park, New York." The usual age toning is seen, but otherwise in very good or better condition.
