    Description

    [Civil War]. Ambrotype of Unidentified Soldier with Pack. 3.25" x 3.75", circa 1860s, a studio portrait of a young Union soldier armed with his rifle, a knife and a Colt pistol. The young man is also equipped with his cap box, a blanket roll and his knapsack. The image is so sharp that one can see the weaving of the blanket at his back.

    Condition: Although the front cover has been lost and some staining has occurred on the gold framing, the image has been kept in very fine condition.
