United States and Mexico Treaty Circular. Four integral, printed pages, 8.5" x 12.5", in Spanish and English, San Luis Potosi, July 17, 1840. Printed in two columns, Spanish on the left and English on the right. The treaty is "...for the adjustment of claims of citizens of the United States of America upon the Government of the Mexican Republic." A committee of four, comprised of two Americans and two Mexicans, is to be established in Washington to hear claims. If the Mexican government cannot pay immediately, treasury bonds are to be issued. Also, a neutral "umpire" appointed by the King of Prussia will also attend and arbitrate the meetings. The treaty is signed (here in print) by Mexican President Anastasio Bustamante and American President Martin Van Buren. Toned along the edges, which are chipped. Separation in places along the vertical fold, most notably in the top portion. In a lovely quarter bound slipcase of brown leather and marbled boards with gilt lettering to the spine and a tan cloth over board chemise.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
