1951 BOWMAN "JETS, ROCKETS AND SPACEMEN" SET. While it’s fairly certain that 144 different cards were in the planning, only the first 108 numbers of this milestone issue actually reached the retail shelf. When "Jets, Rockets and Spacemen" was created, Hollywood and troubled authors had provided the only "knowledge" we had of existance in the cosmos. But with loose imaginations and expert artistic resources, Bowman released this graphic masterpiece which affirmed all the scary myth of the endless yonder. The production appeared in three sequential groups of 36 numbers, and oddly, it is the second of these (#’s 37-72) that have proven the most troublesome for collectors. To finalize a complete set is no mean task, but here offered is one such, presented in its magnificent color and its improbable narrative. Its condition is reported as follows (with the 2nd series expressed in parentheses): EX/MT 33% (14%); EX 43% (61%) and VG-VG/EX 24% (25%). (# This item may require additional shipping charges).
