Tombstone, Arizona: Two Bank Drafts. Bank drafts from the Agency Pima County Bank and its successor, the Cochise County Bank. 1) An Agency Pima County Bank draft, 8" x 3.25", "No. 5089", dated November 10, 1880, for the amount of $100.00 payable to W. A. Bourland. The draft is signed by P. W. Smith, bank manager and is stamped in red ink. William Addis Bourland owned a store in Tombstone which sold among other things cigars, pipes, tobacco, and stationary. His wife, Addie, owned a dress-making shop in Tombstone. She was one of the witnesses to the O.K. Corral shootout on October 26, 1881. 2) A Cochise County Bank draft, 8.25" x 3.75", "No. 624", dated October 11, 1886, for the amount of $50.00 payable to Benjamin Goodrich. The draft is signed by the bank cashier and is stamped in red ink. Benjamin Goodrich (1839-1923) was born in Texas and moved to Tombstone with his brother Briggs in 1880. Benjamin and Briggs Goodrich became prominent lawyers in Tombstone when the Earp brothers were there. The drafts have miniscule pinholes that do not affect the text. Otherwise, the drafts are in good condition.
