    Tombstone, Arizona Territory: Two Banking Documents. Two banking documents from the early 1880s. 1) Bank draft from the Agency Pima County Bank, 8" x 3.5", "No. 1294", dated October 29, 1880, for the amount of $111.10, payable to Chung Wo Tong Company. The draft is signed by bank manager P.W. Smith. The Chung Wo Tung Company was a Chinese business in Tombstone, a town that contained more than one hundred Chinese residents in 1880. 2) Scarce Certificate of Deposit from the Cochise County Bank, 7 5/8" x 3 3/8", "No. 745", dated October 27, 1882, in which the cashier Charles Solomon deposited $544.88 payable to H. Mell on return of the certificate. The certificate is signed on the front by Solomon and stamped. The back of the certificate is signed by Mell. Solomon was the son of Heyman Solomon, who was involved in the incorporation of the Cochise County Bank. The Agency Pima County Bank was established in Tombstone in 1879 and in in 1882 changed its name to the Cochise County Bank. The Agency Pima County Bank document has two minor holes that do not affect the text and is in good condition. The Cochise County Bank certificate is stained around the edges along with two miniscule holes that do not affect any text. Otherwise, the certificate is in good condition.
