    Tombstone, Arizona: Six Postal Covers Relating to Tombstone. Six postal items relating to Tombstone, Arizona Territory. 1) Rare Wells, Fargo & Company cancelled postal cover, 5.5" x 3.25," addressed to "Wells Fargo Co's Bank" in San Francisco. The date on the postal cover, a Wells Fargo envelope, cannot be read. Postal cover has residue of scotch tape on back flap and a tear along three-quarters of the back. Otherwise in good condition. 2) A canceled postal cover, 5.75" x 3 3/8," with return address of A. L. Grow, Grand Marshall, I.O.O.F., Tombstone, stamped "Tombstone 30 Jun 1887" on front and Prescott, Arizona, July 2, 1887, on the back. A.L. Grow, one of Tombstone's earliest settlers, was the superintendent of the Tranquility Mining Company besides serving as Grand Master of the International Order of Odd Fellows. Good condition. 3) Registered letter receipt for letter sent on August 11, 1880 to "Babiste" Motelet, Harshaw, Arizona Territory. The printed document, sent from the Tombstone Post Office, is stamped "Harshaw Aug 16 1880," and signed by "B. W. Smith" over a "Tombstone. Ariz" stamp and signed by Baptiste Motelet. The receipt, 5" x 3," is printed on both sides and filled in with ink. It is in excellent condition. 4) A canceled postal cover, 5.5" x 3," is stamped "Tombstone May 7-1892." The letter was mailed to Bergen County, New Jersey. The cover is slightly soiled but otherwise in good condition. 5) A canceled postal cover with printed return address of Hudson & Company, Bankers, Tombstone. The cover, 5 5/8" x 3.5," is stamped "Tombstone Dec 15 1882" on the front and Washington DC, December 20, 1882 on the back. Hudson & Company Bank was one of the largest in Tombstone. The cover is in good condition. 6) A canceled postal cover with printed return address of Frank B. Austin, Papago Cash Store, Tombstone. The cover, 5 7/8" x 3 3/8," is stamped twice, "Tombstone 10 Jan 1887" and "San Diego Jan 13 1882," from on the front and has three stamps, from Tombstone, San Diego, and Phoenix on the back. Frank B. Austin operated his store on Fremont Street in Tombstone, advertising staple and fancy groceries. The cover is in good condition.
