Tombstone, Arizona: Photograph and Business Card of Tombstone Editor and Businessman. Four items relating to Stanley C. Bagg, Tombstone businessman and editor of the Tombstone Prospector and the Tombstone Epitaph. 1) Cabinet card photograph of Bagg by Schumacher, Los Angeles, California, circa 1890, 3.625" x 5.5" albumen print on a 4.125" x 6.5" mount. 2) Business card of "S.C. Bagg/Auctioneer and Commission Merchant," 4.625" x 2.75." 3) Miniature edition of the Tombstone Prospector, August 2, 1913, 4-page bifold, 4.5" x 6,"which includes an article on the history of the paper. 4) A four-page copy of a biographical article on Bagg from 2007. Stanley C. Bagg, a native of Detroit, where his father founded the Detroit Tribune, arrived in Tombstone sometime in the 1880s. By 1888, he was the sole owner and editor of the Tombstone Prospector. By 1895, Bagg, sensing that Tombstone's better days were behind her, sold his newspapers and mining interests and moved to California, where he died in 1931. The cabinet card and the business card, which has six small glue marks on the back, are in excellent condition. The miniature newspaper has slight tears on the right edge of page 1 and page 4, otherwise it is good condition. A nice group of items relating to this successful Tombstone resident.
