Tombstone, Arizona: Local Attorney Asks for City Appointment. Petition, 8" x 10.5", dated August 13, 1881, by Webster Street to the "Mayor and Common Council of the City of Tombstone" asking the appointment to the "office of City Attorney." The petition is on Webster Street, Attorney at Law letterhead. Webster Street (1846-1908) was born and studied law in Ohio before moving Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and then to Arizona Territory. He settled in Tombstone in 1879, where he served for a time as a county judge. By 1887 he was living in Phoenix. An active Republican, Street tried to get several judicial appointments, but partisan politics seemed to stand in the way. However, in November 1897, he was appointed chief justice of the Arizona Territorial Supreme Court by President William McKinley. He died in Los Angeles. The petition has vertical and horizontal folds, with residue of tape on the back of the document along two of the folds, with one piece of tape still present. Otherwise, the petition is in good condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
