THE PUGILISTIC ARTS - A BRITISH VIEW. Boxing, of course, is not native to America.  Nor can it be claimed by the British.  However, that island society has long embraced the sport.  Further, Great Britain has a more expansive history in the issuance of tobacco inserts than we.  As such, we present this collection of 14 different boxing cards - mostly tobacco - emanating from England.  All are minimally EX/MT, but nearly all are NM or better.  Specifically:  1-2) 1938 Churchman "Boxing Personalities" #20 Jack Johnson and #26 Joe Louis; 3-5) 1908 Ogden "Pugilists and Wrestlers" #22 McGovern, #24 Jeffries and #34 Fitzsimmons; 6-7)  1936/37 Ardath "Photocards" (unnumbered) Joe Louis and Max Schmeling; 8) 1901 Ogden "General Interest 'A'" #90 Fitzsimmons; 9) Ogden "General Interest 'B'" #77 Jem Smith; 10) 1979 Brooke Bond (tea) "Olympic Greats" #21 Muhammad Ali; 11) 1935 Pattreiouex "Sporting Events and Stars" #56 Joe Louis; 12) 1939 United Tobacco (South Africa) "World Famous Boxers" #75 John Henry Lewis; 13) 1937 Ogden "Champions of 1936" #12 Braddock; and  14) 1928 Ogden "Pugilists in Action" #47 Gene Tunney.
