Also, various small vignettes and sheet music. With folding map, "Texas, Mexico, and Part of the United States." Measuring 11.5" x 8.75", this marvelous J. Yeager engraved, full colored (by hand) map shows Texas as independent from Mexico and shows the area of Austin's Colony. Included are a notice for the publication of Mary Austin Holley's "Texas" and articles titled "Sketch of Mexico" and "Sketch of Texas." Half bound in red leather and marbled boards. Gilt design and title on spine. Boards are heavily worn and cracking in places. Spine covering is cracking; head and foot of spine is chipped. Bumped corners. Front and read endpapers are stained at the corners. Moderate to heavy foxing throughout. 2" tear at the bottom edge of the first page of the General Index.
