Date on the spine is incorrectly labeled 1881. Wraps are chipped, especially at the corners. Moderate foxing scattered throughout.
Confederate General Sam Bell Maxey (1825-1895), at the time a member of the United States Senate representing Texas, gives a fantastic overview of the history of Texas, beginning with the colonization by Anglos from the United States through the Texas Revolution, the Republic, statehood, and the Mexican War.
