    Samuel Augustus Mitchell: 1835 New Map of Texas, with the Contiguous American & Mexican States (Philadelphia: Published by S. Augustus Mitchell, 1835), 15.5" x 13". Hand-colored engraving by J. H. Young. Published one year before the Texas Revolution and showing Texas' southern border as the Nueces River. Three text insets include "Remarks on Texas," "Land Grants," and "Rivers of Texas." Land grants are brightly colored. The map is affixed and folded inside the original gilt-stamped leather-bound pocket-sized booklet (3" x 4.75"). Some separation starting at folds (a very few with repairs).
