    Description

    RUTH'S HOME RUN CANDY WRAPPER.

In the early 1920's, Babe Ruth submitted to the good financial guidance of famed ghost writer, Christy Walsh.  One relic of their several ventures is identified here in a wrapper from his short-lived chocolate bar.  With its appearance, the confectionery giant, Curtiss Candy, took exception.  Curtiss had long enjoyed success with their "Baby Ruth" (alluding exclusively to President Grover Cleveland's illegitimate daughter).  And this particular Ruth/Christy bid for fortune was promptly banished from the market.  As such, "Babe Ruth's Own Candy" became extinct and nearly so did the wrapper, as well.  This survivor, about 7 1/2" x 6", is in splendid EX/MT condition.  A minor spot of surface wear appears on the Babe's portrait image, but there's not a tear to be found on this beauty.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
