Over the years, collector pursuit of product endorsements has matured to an intricate level of sophistication.  Most of these delights, of course, have utterly no relationship to the core of our avocation - baseball cards.  Red Man Tobacco, however, launched a campaign to stimulate sales by the very direct inducement of proclaiming their colorful baseball card inserts.  We don't know the variety of images in this effort, but here presented are two such positively beautiful ads.  These are identically dimensioned to 11" x 15 1/2", and were likely displayed in news stands and tobacco shops.  The first of these, spotlighting Enos Slaughter, is clearly a 1953 creation.  It has light corner damage and very mild toning (against the predominantly yellow background), but is undeniably EX+.  The other piece projects a different image of the product, and meets the enthusiastic approval of Johnny Mize.  Our first inclination is to identify this piece as a 1953 effort, as well (coinciding with Mize's only appearance in the four-year productions).  In virtually the same condition as the Slaughter ad, this one is also about EX+.  Both are a light cardboard stock, begging to be framed and displayed.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
