    Printed Invitation to the 43rd Anniversary of the Death of Emperor Maximilian I. 6.75" x 9", Mexico, June 15, 1910, an invitation to celebrate the 43rd Anniversary of the death of Emperor Maximilian on June 20, 1910 in the temple of Colegio de Niñas. At the bottom left corner, written in an unknown hand is "Ana Maria Negrate." The invitation is in a double-sided frame, with the original transmittal envelope addressed to Don Mariano Degollado and his wife.

    Degollado was a chamberlain in Maximilian's court and acted as his agent in Washington. Degollado went into exile after Maximilian's execution, and returned to Mexico in 1879. Property from the Estate of Kenneth S. "Bud" Adams, Jr.

    Condition: Some paper loss on transmittal envelope, else very fine. Framed to an overall size of 10.75" x 16.5".
