    Description

    Pope Gregorius XVI Marriage Authorizations (2). Gregory XVI was made a cardinal by Leo XII in 1825, and soon after became a prefect at the College de Propaganda Fide. He was elected pope in 1831.

    Single sheet of vellum, 17.75" x 12", Rome; November 19, 1833. Authorizing the marriage of Henri de Veuter and Marie Meuldermans. Docketed on verso. Dampstaining at top corners, folds as stored. Old catalog description taped to verso, above annotations in pencil by a previous collector.
