    Photograph: General George G. Meade and Staff, 1863. Measuring 8.25" x 5.5", this sepia toned albumen features Meade, sitting at center with legs crossed outside of his headquarters, surrounded by members of his staff. Affixed to a mount to an overall size of 13.5" x 10.75". According to a pencil notation on the verso, "This belonged to H[annibal] Hamlin, V.P. at the time." This photograph is also found in Francis Trevelyan Miller and Robert S. Lanier's, The Photographic History of the Civil War, Volume II (New York: The Review of Reviews Co., 1910), p. 232, also indicated on the verso. Mount is moderately foxed with only a few spots touching the edges of the image.
