    Pennsylvania Chronicle (Philadelphia) dated June 20, 1768: "A New and Accurate Map". 8 pp, 9 1/4" x 11 1/2", edge roughness, disbound, separated, else fine. This Colonial American newspaper contains an inside page, long detailed description of a new map engraved by T. Thomas titled: "A New and Accurate MAP of the Provinces of PENNSYLVANIA, VIRGINIA, MARYLAND, NEW-JERSEY, NEW-YORK, &c. humbly dedicated to their Honours the Governors of the several Provinces." This also contains a 2/3 column news report of MAJOR ROBERT ROGERS as Governor of Michilimackinac (Mackinaw City, Michigan) in 1767. Robert Rogers (7 November 1731 - 18 May 1795) was an American colonial frontiersman. He served in the British army during both the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. During the French and Indian War, Rogers raised and commanded the famous Rogers' Rangers, trained for raiding and close combat behind enemy lines. Rogers was appointed governor of Michilimackinac (Mackinaw City, Michigan) in 1767.
