OL' DIZ AND FALSTAFF. In the '40's, Dizzy Dean hung up his spikes and took a new career in the broadcast booth.  He covered Cardinal and Browns games in the early years, but eventually found his way to network coverage.  America's captive audience of baseball fans were then compelled to (and endeared by) a new language.  As events took their unforced course, Dizzy came to be the spokesman for Falstaff Beer, one of the period's principal broadcast sponsors.  In that union, posters such as this offered piece, circulated distributorships and taverns across the country.  This one appeared sometime in the 1960's in the Bay Area.  It's 17" x 21", unframed and in utterly pristine NM/MT condition.  As a supplement, there is included here a period Zenith transistor radio.  We think that, as a functioning receiver, it long ago drew its last breath.  However, its reverse panel holds a Falstaff logo, and proclaims Diz on the airwaves.  The beer logo's adhesive has bled somewhat around its perimeter (which could probably be fully cleaned), and the "Dizzy Dean" applique is NM/MT.  Additional shipping cost may apply.
