Three Newspapers, consisting of the following: (1) Essex Register (June 2, 1836) which contains the contents of a letter written by one of Santa Anna's generals describing to his wife the execution of 427 Texas prisoners at Goliad (page two contains news of the Battle of San Jacinto); (2) Independent Chronicle & Boston Patriot (June 8, 1836) with an account of the Battle of the Coleto and the subsequent Goliad Massacre; (3) Manufacturers & Farmers Journal (July 21, 1836) reporting General Thomas Rusk's funeral oration for those murdered at the Goliad Massacre on March 27, 1836. Slight staining; folds.
