    [Civil War] Semi-Weekly Dispatch Newspaper. Vol. 3, No. 10, four pages, 16" x 22.5", Richmond, February 3, 1863. Published in Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the Confederacy at the height of the Civil War. Features articles on the progress of the war, a proclamation by President Jefferson Davis against [General Benjamin] "Beast Butler," and an article on the "Ohio view of the Emancipation Proclamation." There is also on the front page a column on the wedding of the famous circus performer Major General Tom Thumb. Text is faded from aging, but still entirely legible; fold creases are weakened to the point of tearing. Heavy staining on some pages two, three, and four. Good condition.
