MULTI-SIGNED SUPERSTAR BALL. In 1931, during the darkest hours of the Great Depression, a sportswriter asked Ruth if he sensed any discomfort in earning more than President Hoover.  "Why not," retorted the Babe, "I had a better year than he did."  (But then, the same could be said for anybody on the roster.)  The Yankees in general, and Ruth in particular, supported the Democratic passions of Al Smith.  And so, it's a profound novelty that this presented ball bears the signatures of Babe Ruth (9) as well as Herbert Hoover (8).  It's a safe bet that the former signed before the latter.  The medium is an OAL, red and black stitched ball (pre-1934), and as is evident from our photo of this entry, it bears eight other autographs of heavy-duty celebrities of the game.  Though one of these isn't legible, the quality is about 7-9 of the others.  Among them are Frankie Frisch, Waite Hoyt, Hank Greenberg (9), Joe McCarthy, Buddy Hasset, Bill Terry and Ford Frick.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
