    Description

    The Flying Ace (Norman, 1926).
    Three-sheets, not joined
    41" x 79.5"
    Arlington, Florida; [1926]

Starring Lawrence Criner and Kathryn Boyd. Released in 1926, this film was a major hit for Norman Studios. Criner plays a World War I fighter pilot who returns home a hero. Peg Reynolds is Criner's sidekick, and together they rescue Boyd and her father from railroad thieves. The film boasts death-defying feats in "the greatest airplane thriller ever filmed," but in reality, Norman shot all the airplane scenes with the plane on the ground. Even so, the film was a sensation, and grossed close to $20,000 (in today's money more than a quarter million dollars) through Norman's distribution efforts.

The Flying Ace Press Book (1926)
    Four pages of a bifolium, measuring 14" x 22"
    No place; 1926

The large booklet claims to be an "exact reproduction of window card" and provides numerous photographs from the film, details on the cast/characters, and viewing information.

Condition: As stated above, the large poster is three-sheets in two parts, cleanly cut. Each sheet has flattened folds, with some small separations at folds. There is mild foxing at some of the edges, along with some soiling and paint transference. The press book is lightly toned, with folds. Some small separations where folds created weaknesses. Overall, good condition, colors are very bright.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
