Demon Pond (Shôchiku Eiga, 1979. Japanese B1 (28" X 40"). This very rare and beautiful country-of-origin posters is for the film featuring the famous Kabuki star, Tamasaburo Bando. The film is a beautiful fable, told in a colorful, whimsical style. It concerns a shy, humble woman from a village beside the enchanted pond of the title, and a beautiful princess who lives in the pond among its mud creatures. Both women are played by the lithe, graceful Mr. Bando, who is not in any way recognizable here as a man. The poster is mounted on linen and in nice condition. Very Fine on Linen.
