MANNY RAMIREZ GAMEUSED UNIFORM. On June 26, 1999 the Royals hosted Cleveland in a regular-season game and for that scheduled date, the teams paid tribute to the Negro Leagues. Furnished for the players were uniforms replicating that hallowed American institution. The Indians dressed in the style of the Cleveland Buckeyes, and here presented is the uniform (jersey and pants) that Manny Ramirez wore for that game. In the jersey’s collar is sewn the manufacturer’s label, "Ebbets Field Flannels," with an attached flag tag, "XX Large." Outside the tail there appears the logo patch, "Negro Leagues Baseball Museum," and a handsome 1945 Champions patch is sewn on the left sleeve. To accentuate the quality of this piece, the team identity and "24" on the reverse are applied in felt. The only tag appearing in the pants indicates their size "38." To underscore the many travails of Negro League players, these pants were designed with a button style fly. A very minor stain on the jersey’s left sleeve is the only remnant of game use. However, a signed LOA, on franchise letterhead, validates this uniform and references the Royals’ charitable purpose. (# This item may require additional shipping charges).
