JACK MURPHY STADIUM BROWN PLASTIC RISER. Constructed in 1969 and still in use today, Jack Murphy stadium cost 27.8 million. Nicknamed "The Murph", it was home to the San Diego Padres until 2003 and is still being used by football's Chargers. After years of having minor league teams playing in San Diego, local sportswriter Jack Murphy began to build up support for a new stadium in the mid-1960's and it would accommodate the Chargers and a MLB expansion team, the Padres. It was originally known as San Diego Stadium but was named for Murphy in 1981 after his death. In 1997 it was renamed Qualcomm Stadium. The Padres played their last game in 2003 but the stadium continues to be used by the Chargers and for many other events. The stadium also hosted a few baseball milestones. Among them were Willie Mays 600th career home run and Lou Brock's record 839th stolen base.  The seat that we offer is #19, which is the same as Mr. Padre, Tony Gwynn, a hall-of-famer in waiting! It is constructed of brown plastic and aluminum and is 100% original. The paint job is unrestored and the seat bottom is fully functional and operational. Both feet/pods are completely intact. Get yours today!! Please note:Additional shipping cost may apply.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
