    Frank A. Gray: Gray's New Map of Texas and the Indian Territory. (Philadelphia: O. W. Gray & Son, copyright date 1876. 25.5" x 16". Hand-colored accents. Double-page sheet filled with great detail and seven inset maps featuring Austin, Matagorda Bay, River Systems of Texas, Galveston, the entrance to Galveston Bay, the southern-most tip of Texas, and a Hypsometric sketch of Texas. The state's newly formed panhandle counties are shown listed as "Young Territory". The Indian Territory, the future state of Oklahoma, is shown with "Public Lands" limited to the western panhandle. With the exception of some trivial toning to the paper and a central vertical binding crease, the map is in excellent condition. TSHA member donation.
