    William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody: 1884 Buffalo Bill's Wild West Program and Insert. The program, 7" x 10", is filled with engravings depicting events in western history that are featured in the show and boasts a lineup including Capt. A.H. Bogardus (one of the proprietors of the show along with Cody and Nate Salisbury), Maj. Frank North, "Oklahoma" Payne, "Buck" Taylor (King of the Cow-boys), and "Con" Groner. There are also articles, poetry, and testimonials that sing the praises of Buffalo Bill. Lightly foxed throughout. Printed covers are detached with damage at the lower right corner of the rear.

    The insert measures 5.5" x 8.5" and features the full program for the show with events including the grand parade, horse races, a Pony Express exhibition, shooting demonstrations by Bogardus ("and his 4 sons"), a "stage coach attacked by Indians," Scalp and War Dances performed by Pawnee as well as a buffalo chase by Pawnee and Cody, and an attack by Indian's on a settler's cabin.
