    Description

    US 13-Star Hoisting Flag. 66" x 44" cotton flag with 13 stars arranged in a "Betsy Ross" pattern (one large central star within a circle of 12 smaller stars). Machine stitched, minor fraying at lower right corner, canvas hoist with two grommets. Some light stains. Hoist inscribed "Fort Stan", referring to the flag that was displayed during the Revolutionary War at Ft. Stanwix.
    Accompanied by an inventory sheet from the "Flag Heritage Foundation" of Lexington, Massachusetts plus a 1952 "gifting" letter to Dr. Rungee from a lady in Hamden, Connecticut. From the Dr. Clarence R. Rungee Collection.
