    Description

    Telephone Communications: Theodore Vail Silver Award Medal. 2 1/2" medal by Medallic Art Company, dated 1987, made of "Fine Silver" with a bust of AT&T President Theodore Newton Vail on one side and allegorical figures holding up a bundle of telephone wires on the other, inscribed "The Vail Medal For Noteworthy Public Service". This specimen is not inscribed. Handsome matte finish with scattered edge scratches and dings. The award was instituted in 1921, one year after Vail's death. Silver content is 129.1 grams.
