Darby, Printer and Publisher, 1884. 8vo, 31 pages. Publisher's original printed wraps. Clear dust jacket. Quarter bound brown and tan cloth slipcase with titles in gilt on spine and chemise. Date on the spine is incorrectly labeled 1881. Wraps are chipped, especially at the corners. Moderate foxing scattered throughout.

    Confederate General Sam Bell Maxey (1825-1895), at the time a member of the United States Senate representing Texas, gives a fantastic overview of the history of Texas, beginning with the colonization by Anglos from the United States through the Texas Revolution, the Republic, statehood, and the Mexican War.
