Affixed to a Brady's Album Gallery (No. 605) mount, the verso of which describes the scene: "Group of President Lincoln, Gen. McClellan, and Suite, at headquarters Army of Potomac, previous to reviewing the troops and the Battle-Field of Antietam, 3d Oct., 1862." Featured in the photograph are, from left to right, Buck Juit, Ward Hill Lamon, Ozias Hatch, Gen. Randolph B. Marcy, Capt. Wright Rives, Gen. McClernand, Lincoln, Lt. Col. Andrew B. Porter, McClellan, Joseph Kennedy, John Garrett, and Col. Thomas S. Mather. Mount is lightly soiled and stained; more heavily on the verso.
