Charleston, Arizona: Rare Postal Cover with Letter. A scare canceled postal cover and letter mailed from Charleston, Arizona Territory. The postal cover, 6" x 3 3/8," with return printed address of W. L. Austin, Harshaw (crossed out with "Charleston" written underneath), was mailed to his father in Virginia on March 17, 1882. The letter, is four pages on each side of two Tombstone Mill and Mining Company letterhead sheets, 5.25" x 8," was written in Millville, Arizona Territory, and is comprised of the latest news in Austin's life and is signed "Lewis." W. Lawrence Austin was a mining engineer and metallurgist who worked for the Tombstone Mill and Mining Company in Millville. The letter was mailed from Charleston, located across the San Pedro River from Millville, because it was the closest post office. Charleston, located about twelve miles southwest of Tombstone, was established in Pima County in April 1879. Austin's letter is dated March 17, 1882, the day before Morgan Earp was assassinated in Tombstone. A rare opportunity to acquire a postal cover with letter, both of which are in good condition.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
