    Description

Abraham Lincoln and Gettysburg: Collection of Lecture Series Slides. One-hundred and one [101] glass slides measuring 4" x 3 ¼" each, housed in five pasteboard boxes, in black & white and color. The collection was purchased in 1971 from Don Buehler of Minneapolis who had inherited them from his grandfather, a professor at Gettysburg College. Many of the slides are marked "New York Education Department" and may have originated there. Besides pictures of people associated with Lincoln, there are images of Lincoln statues, monuments, portraits of Lincoln, views of Gettysburg and the battlefield. These likely date from the first quarter of the 20th century.
