One partially printed page, 14.5" x 9.75", Coldwater [Michigan], December 24, 1862, appointing him "...Commissary Sergeant of the Ninth Regiment of Michigan Vol. Cavalry..." [and:] Military Discharge. One partially printed page, 7" x 9.25", Knoxville [Tennessee], April 14, 1864, discharging Bare as commissary sergeant " enable him to accept a Commission then tendered him by the Governor of Michigan..." [and:] Muster-In Roll. One partially printed page, 16.75" x 10.75", Lexington [Kentucky], April 15, 1864, giving details of his military history to that point. [and:] Military Discharge. One page, 8.5" x 10.5", Lexington [North Carolina], July 21, 1865, discharging him from "...the service of the United from the Secretary of War." All are heavily folded with some staining and toning.
