CROSLEY FIELD 1912 SEAT.   Home to the Cincinnati Reds for 58 years, Crosely Field opened on May 18, 1912. Originally called Redland Field, it had a capacity of 20,000. The team and ballpark were purchased by Powel Crosley in 1934 and the park was renamed after its new owner. Lights were allowed to be installed in 1935 and thus night baseball was born, forever changing the game. Crosley went through numerous changes until it finally closed in June of 1970. The homeplate from Crosley was removed and placed into the new Riverfront Stadium. Crosley was finally demolished in 1972. Cost of the original construction of Crosely was $225,000. Up for bid is seat # 12 and is from the 1912 season, making it 92 years old!! It is all original and unrestored. Does have some rust on the metal parts but overall in pretty decent shape and the wood is solid, although somewhat weathered. Condition is VG. Please note:Additional shipping cost may apply.
