    Confederate Blockade Runner Stock Certificate.
    This company's bond has the distinction of being the only one to include "of the Confederate States" in its heading. 8.25" x 5.25" certificate on blue paper, Charleston, February 6, 1865, titled "The Atlantic Steam Packet Company of the Confederate States". It represents one share purchased by Messieurs George W. Williams & Company for $1,000. Charleston would surrender to Union forces on February 18, 1865, just 12 days after this certificate was issued. Signed by the President and Treasurer of the company, along with their blind-embossed seal.
