    Claude Joseph Sauthier. A Topographical Map of Hudsons River, with the Channels Depth of Water, Rocks, Shoals, &c. and the Country adjacent, from Sandy-Hook, New York and Bay of Fort Edward, also the Communication with Canada by Lake George and lake Champlain, as high as Fort Chambly on Sorel River. By Claude Joseph Sauthier on the Original Scale of Four Miles to One Inch. London: William Faden. 1776. 21.5" x 31.75" (sight). An important and scarce Revolutionary War map illustrating the expanse of the Hudson across three panels. The primary courses are given great detail, illustrating the value the British placed on maintaining control of these waterways. Hand-colored.

    Condition: Creasing throughout, with light ink ghosting and soiling. Few small stains at bottom of middle panel. Two small repaired tears at top through title at top, including a bit of paper loss to surface affecting a couple of letters at center. Matted and framed to an overall size of 28.75" x 38.5".
