Six Boston Museum Playbills, 1860-1861. 5" x 17.25" playbill for the November 29, 1860 stock company performance of the Scottish drama based on a novel by Sir Walter Scott entitled "Jeanie Deans or-The Heart of Mid Lothian." 2) 4.75" x 16" playbill for the February 6, 1861 appearance of Mr. Waller and Emma Waller "Bertram or, The Castle of St. Aldobrand" and a stock company performance of the comedy "Faint Heart Never Won Fair Lady." 3) 4.75" x 13.75" playbill for the September 2-3, 1861 stock company performances of the comedies "Uncle Robert or Love's Labour Saved" and "The Glorious Minority." 4) 4.75 x 13.5" playbill for the September 30, 1861 stock company performance of "The Angel of Midnight." 5) 4 7/8" x 17.25" playbill for the October 28-29, 1861 stock company performances of "Eudora or-The False Princess" and the comedy "Brother Bill and Me." 6) 4.75" x 13.5" playbill for the November 21, 1861 stock company performances of "Pauvrette or-Under the Snow." The six playbills were printed in Boston by F.A. Searle.     Born Emma Weeden, Emma Waller (1815-1899) was an English actress who achieved success in the United States beginning in the 1850s. She married Daniel Waller, her second husband, in 1851. They afterwards toured the Unites States together.

    The Boston Museum opened in 1841 and hosted a wax museum, a natural history museum, and an art museum in addition to theatrical performances. Numerous famous actors and actresses entertained audiences at the Boston Museum, including Edwin and John Wilkes Booth, William Warren, and Kate Reignolds.
