Eleven Boston Museum Playbills, 1863. 1) 4 5/8" x 13.25 playbill for the October 16, 1863 stock company performance of the comedies "The School for Scandal" and "Turn Him Out." 2) 4.75" x 12.75" playbill for the October 17, 1863 stock company performance of the comedy "Town and Country." 3) 4 5/8" x 12.75" playbill for the October 21, 1863 stock company performance of the comedies "Doctor Wespe" and "Turn Him Out." 4) 4.75" x 12.5" playbill for the October 24, 1863 stock company performance of "The Hunchback." 5) 4.5" x 12.75" playbill for the October 26, 1863 stock company performance of "Camilla's Husband" and the comedy "Popping the Question." 6) 4.5" x 12.75" playbill for the November 2, 1863 stock company performance of "Camilla's Husband" and the comedy "Cousin Tom." 7) 4.5" x 12 7/8" playbill for the November 16, 1863 stock company performance of the comedies "The Jealous Wife" and "Lend Me 5 Shillings." 8) 4 5/8" x 12.75" playbill for the November 19, 1863 stock company performance of two comedies "Leap Year" and "Shakes and Shivers or-The Highwayman's Holiday." 9) 4 5/8" x 12.75" playbill for the November 21, 1863 stock company performance of the comedy "The Jealous Wife." 10) 4.5" x 12.5" playbill for the December 5, 1863 stock company performance of the comedy "Look Before You Leap or Wooings and Weddings." 11) 4 5/8" x 12.25" playbill for the December 12, 1863 stock company performance of the comedies "Uncle Robert" and "The Clockmaker's Hat." The playbills were printed in Boston by F.A. Searle. All playbills have shadows of glue residue on the top and bottom corners without affecting text.

    The Boston Museum opened in 1841 and hosted a wax museum, a natural history museum, and an art museum in addition to theatrical performances. Numerous famous actors and actresses entertained audiences at the Boston Museum, including Edwin and John Wilkes Booth, William Warren, and Kate Reignolds.
