Eight Boston Museum Playbills, 1865-65. 1) 4.75 x 13.75 playbill for the January 4, 1864 stock performance of "Pauvrette or-Under the Snow," and the comedy "Turn Him Out." 2) 4.75" x 13.25" playbill for the January 18, 1864 stock company performance of "The Ticket-of-Leave Man" and the comedy "Slasher & Crasher." 3) 4.5" x 14.5" playbill for the March 14, 1864 stock company performance of "Rosedale or-The Rifle Ball." 4) 4.5" x 14.5" playbill for the April 4, 1864 stock company performance of "Rosedale or-The Rifle Ball." 5) 5.75" x 14.25" playbill for the May 30, 1864 stock company performance of the comedies "The Little Treasure," "Asmodeus or-The Little .....'s Share," and "Make Your Wills." 6) 4 3/8" x 14.5" playbill for the August 22, 1864 stock company performance of "Town and Country" and the comedy "The Two Gregories." 7) 4 3/8" x 14.75" playbill for the September 5-7, 1864 stock company performances of the comedies "Vanity Fair or False to Ourselves," and "The Loan of a Lover." 8) 5.75" x 14.25" playbill for the January 13, 1865 stock company performance of the comedies "The Jealous Wife" and "The Soldier's Daughter." The playbills were printed in Boston by F.A. Searle. All of the playbills have shadows of glue residue at the top and bottom corners without affecting text.

    The Boston Museum opened in 1841 and hosted a wax museum, a natural history museum, and an art museum in addition to theatrical performances. Numerous famous actors and actresses entertained audiences at the Boston Museum, including Edwin and John Wilkes Booth, William Warren, and Kate Reignolds.
