Verve was a modernist Parisian art and literary magazine published in Paris from 1937 and 1960 by Teriade, the nom de plume of Stratis Eleftheriades (1889-1983), a native of Greece who instead became an art critic, patron, and, most significantly, a publisher. The magazine was first published in December 1937. It published 38 issues in 10 volumes including lithographs by the most prominent artists, such as Matisse and Picasso, of the Parisian art scene of the first half of the 20th century. In addition, the early contributors included James Joyce and Ernest Hemingway. The magazine folded in 1960.

Henri Émile Benoît Matisse (1869-1954), an artist known his expressiveness of color, is considered the most important French artist of the 20th century. He was a draughtsman, book illustrator, graphic artist, and sculptor, but was known primarily as a painter.

Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947) was a French painter, illustrator, and printmaker, known especially for the stylized decorative qualities of his paintings and his bold use of color. He was a founding member of the Post-Impressionist group of avant-garde painters Les Nabis, and his early work was strongly influenced by the work of Paul Gauguin.

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist, stage designer, poet and playwright who spent most of his adult life in France. Considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co-founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
