Malcolm X Liberation University Handbill.Double-sided, 8.5" x 14"
Durham, North Carolina; August 15, 1969
A handbill for the university, which operated from October 25, 1969 to June 28, 1973. The tuition for the school cost $300, and the curriculum focused on Black Power and Pan-Africanism. On verso are Requirements for admission, the History and Purpose of the school, and Curriculum, Student and Staff details. The university only lasted for three years, as political conflicts tarnished the school's reputation and funding became difficult to procure.
Condition: Flattened folds, with dark areas of soiling in places (does not affect the text). Separations and a few small tears are present at folds where folds created weakness. There is a small strip of tape on verso reinforcing one of the folds.
