DescriptionFrank Butler: 1908 Shooting Tournament Program with Notation by Him. Fred Stone was a vaudeville comedian and song and dance man who hit the big time when he created the role of the Scarecrow in Broadway's "Wizard of Oz." He and his wife Allene became best friends with Frank and Annie in about 1900. A shared passion for competitive trapshooting led him to become a missionary for the sport. This booklet announces the 1908 "State Tournament" at the "Fred A. Stone Gun Club" in Denver, Colorado. 5" x 7.5". Very good condition. This lot will be accompanied by a family letter of provenance.
