Two Eula 1960s Music Posters. Includes:

    The Supremes (1965)
    25" x 38.25"
    New York; 1965

A concert poster advertising a live performance by The Supremes at the Lincoln Center, Philharmonic Hall in New York on October 15, 1965. Distributed by Darien House, Inc. With artwork by Joe Eula.

The Supremes rank as Motown's biggest act of the 1960s, and only the Temptations' phenomenal longevity precludes the Supremes from being the most successful Motown group of all-time. Joe Eula (1925-2004) was a famous fashion illustrator, whose work appeared in publications such as American Vogue, The New York Times, and Harper's Bazaar. In addition to his fashion work, Eula was also interested in the music scene and made concert posters for the likes of The Supremes and Liza Minnelli.

    Bobby Short Poster
    25" x 38"
    New York; 1966

A concert poster advertising a live performance by the famed cabaret singer at The Living Room in New York on October 23, 1966. Distributed by Darien House, Inc. With artwork by Joe Eula.

Bobby Short (1924-2005) made his name as a pianist and cabaret singer. He was known for performing popular contemporary composers such as Rogers and Hart and George and Ira Gershwin, as well as for supporting African-American composers like Duke Ellington. He later was a key figure in the construction of the Ellington Memorial in New York City. This poster of Short does not include him seated at a piano, as Joe Eula wished to present the artist in an unexpected and unique way.

Condition: Light wear, else very good.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
