    Ramon Rayon Broadside Invalidating a Decree Passed by the Legislature of Coahuila y Texas. One page with "SELLO TERCERO DOS REALES" for the years 1826 and 1827 imprint on verso, 8.5" x 12.5"; Federal District, Mexico; issued on March 26, 1835 (year is incorrectly printed as 1335). A second round seal "SELLO 4o" also on verso.

    Rayon announces that Miguel Barragan, interim president, has declared that "the decree expedited by the Legislature of Coahuila & Texas on February 25, 1834 about the property belonging to the Concurso de Aguayo, opposes article 157 of the federal Constitution."

    The original presidential decree was issued by Barragan on March 21, 1835. Barragan was appointed president by the Congress when Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna left office to quell rebellion in Zacatecas.

    Condition: Bright paper, with flattened folds. Untrimmed, with pencil notations, "RS" at top right, and an "X" marking the passage regarding Coahuila & Texas.
